Chris Andrew Kerechanin

Chris Kerechanin, beloved husband of 38 years to Cathy Kerechanin, father of six and grandfather of three, passed away from cancer at his home in Greenville, South Carolina, July 21, at the age of 63. Chris was born Nov. 25, 1952, in Barberton. Family was everything to him and his friends were family too. He thrived outdoors, hiking, camping, traveling, fixing things, problem solving and making people laugh. He attended Barberton High School and graduated from Akron University. He worked at Michelin for 39 years as an aircraft tire designer. As a devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He is survived by his sons, Andrew (Katie) Kerechanin and Adam Kerechanin and daughters, Carrie (Paul) Jobson, Natalie (Jamie) Monts, Karen Kerechanin, and Carlie Kerechanin and grandchildren, Allison, Hannah and Luke Jobson. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Chuck and Chad and sisters, Sue, Karen and Mari. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia. A mass will be Thursday, July 28, 10 a.m., at St. Anthony’s, followed by a luncheon. Donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 307 Gower St. Greenville, SC 29611 or the Cleveland Hope Lodge 11432 Mayfield Rd. Cleveland, OH 44106.     Have very fond memories of your family all n a row at the 8am Sunday masses. It was obvious that Chris and Cathy had worked together to build a very strong faith-filled legacy. My prayers and sympathy are with you.

    While staying at Hope Lodge, Cleveland Ohio
    we met Chris and Cathy there and became friends instantly.
    Chris was such a sweet man and was determined
    to get well for his precious wife and family.
