Anthony F. Pollak, 94, passed away Aug. 28, at Summa Barberton Hospital. Tony was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and retired from Mechanical Mold and Machine Co. in Akron after 41 years. Tony was an active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church and their Holy Name Society. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight for Knights of Columbus Council 1617. Tony was proud to be a Marine Corp Veteran having served during World War II on the USS South Dakota and in the 2nd Marine Division in the battle of Tarawa. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Blaho of Barberton; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Sept. 1, 10 a.m., at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Road, Norton. Rev. James Maloney celebrant.
