Winter Storm Warning, Snow Ban issued

The City of Barberton  has issued a Snow Emergency Parking Ban today, Friday, Jan. 12.


 The City of Barberton has issued a Snow Emergency Parking Ban for ALL CITY STREETS effective 12:00 p.m.  The ban is in effect until 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.

Snow parking bans are issued for the purpose of the public’s safety and the efficiency of snow clearing efforts on city streets.

A snow parking ban means all vehicles are required to be removed off City streets during this time.  Failure to comply may result in ticketing and/or removal of the vehicle by the Barberton Police Department.


 From the National Weather Service in Cleveland….

A winter storm warning remains in effect from noon today until 10 a.m. Saturday. Heavy mixed precipitation is expected with rain changing to freezing rain this afternoon and snow and sleet by early evening.

Accumulations could reach 4-8 inches.

Wind gust could be as high as 30 mph. Drifting and blowing are expected.

    So the button is pushed and the parking ban is in effect. When does the enforcement take place?
    If we park in front of the homes of our elected and appointed town managers will the message sink in or will vehicles be towed.
