Man attempts robbery at main intersection

A woman reported walking near the intersection of Wooster Road West and 31st Street Northwest when a man began asking her for money.

She said he approached her from behind while she was walking to work Feb. 1. When she declined, he grabbed her coat and pulled her back. She was able to spray him with pepper spray.

She told police the suspect ran down 29th Street Southwest. She said he was white, about 6 foot tall with no facial hair. She suspected he was about 30 years old wearing a black Carhartt coat with a hood and a black knit hat.

She said the pepper spray blew back into her eyes and she could barely see.

No suspects were found.
