Magics hold off Aviators

Barberton’s boys basketball team won a high scoring game over visiting Alliance, 77-72.

The Magics improve to 10-9 with the win while the Aviators fall to 9-10.

Senior forward Jordan Greynolds had a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds. He made 6-8 free throws and three 3-pointers along with five assists.

Junior Jordan Soyars had 20 points and eight assists. Garrett Turnbaugh made three 3-pointers on his way to 16 points.

Zane Ries had 9 points, six assists and four steals. His layup in the final seconds moved him into 15th place in Barberton history for points scored with 899.

Juan Franklin had 4 points and nine rebounds and Jaret Barclay made one basket for 2 points.

Next, the Magics play at Kent Friday, Feb. 16 as they look to improve to 7-4 in conference play.
