Fire strikes house

Investigators are checking for the cause of a fire which seriously damaged a Fifth Street Northwest house this morning, May 11, in Barberton. All human occupants got out safely. One person was treated by paramedics after jumping out a second story window. Two dogs were rescued by firefighters. One was given oxygen and responded. A second dog did not survive.

Fifth Street was closed south of Brady Avenue.
