All DI teams in top 20

Barberton Destination Imagination once again performed well on the world’s stage.

Four teams represented Barberton City Schools and the community at Destination Imagination Global Finals at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from May 22-26. Competing with teams from all over the United States and more than 15 countries, two of our Barberton teams finished in the top 10.

All Barberton teams placed in the top 20 of their respective challenges.

Finishing in sixth place out of 67 teams in the secondary level service learning challenge was The Purple Penguins One Last Time. Team members Heather Kriston, Payton Hoffman and Michaela Querry were led by team managers Ken and Treasure Kriston and Danielle Hoffman.

Finishing in seventh place out of 74 teams in the middle level service learning challenge were The Goonies. Team members Carlie Hurd, Lulu Kemp, Olivia Teagle, Aidan Taylor and Maddie Mitchell were led by team managers Susan Kemp and Lisa Mitchell.

Finishing in 17th place out of 52 teams in the elementary level scientific challenge were The Purple Crumbs Stuck in your Moustache. Team members Cassie Moore, Haley Lorenzo, Wyatt Slater, Quinn Moore and Cade Kelley were led by team managers Dawn Moore and Andrea Tomer.

Finishing in 19th placed out of 94 teams in the middle level engineering challenge were I Don’t Know How To Pronounce This. Team members Lucas Tallant, Kane Holmes, Maryah Rhoden, and Gabby Risley were led by team managers Tom and Lisa Tallant and Denise Risley.
