Mosquito spraying schedule announced

Spraying for mosquitos in Barberton and Norton will be conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and proposed EPA regulations, specifically when there is no rain, winds are less than 10 mph, temperature is 55 degrees or above.

Those with health concerns, along with those who maintain apiaries, are urged to take necessary precautions. Call the mosquito abatement district office at 330-848-2623 with any concerns.

If surveillance light traps contain less than 20 mosquitoes, spraying maybe cancelled for that ward or area.

Sprays are conducted Thursday evenings AND nights unless noted. When needed, spraying may be conducted on any morning but no later than 8 a.m.

If unable to spray on the scheduled date, a makeup spray will be the following Monday if weather permits,[[[

    Yeah, they are pretty bad already. Probably due to all the raining it has been doing.

    Yes the mosquitoes are bad here on Parkview ave. Some people behind us have tires everywhere in their yard and I saw a lady trying to spray something in them, maybe to kill them. A lot of areas in that yard are growing mosquitoes

      Might be a wise choice to call down to the Mosquito Abatement office and let them know. They can investigate or set traps. You can do that you know. You pay for it already so why not ask? It is totally worth it.

    Oh my goodness not until June 14th? We’ve been getting eaten alive in my backyard for couple weeks now!!

    we have mosquitos NOW why wait until June 14..that is 2 weeks away ward 2
