Barberton Area Community Ministries

Thanks to Costco Wholesale in Strongsville for a $25 cash card that was used to start purchasing food for the Head Start Backpack Program. Beginning in October, students will receive three meals and two snacks, twice per month, to help with the weekend food costs.

We had another week of great sponsorship from the community! Thank you to the following for giving to our 20th annual Dinner & Silent Auction – First Church of Christ, Durbin Magic Freeze, John and Helen Deibel, Kenneth R. Cox, Raymond James Financial-Dennis Liddle, Terri and Sally Avant, and Saint Ann’s Ministry-St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.

A few new items were added to our silent auction thanks to Grandma’s Ceramic Hutch, Akron Zoo, Raven Napier and Chick-fil-A Montrose.

New this year, we will create a dinner placemat featuring local businesses and politicians. For $25 your business card could join current donors, Debbie Shreiner-Helen Scott Realty and 2 Sisters Sewing. See for details.

Dinner tickets are now on sale at BACM or from a board member. Your $15 dinner ticket will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, and rolls prepared by Katy’s Kreations. Drinks and dessert provided by BACM volunteers.

If you are in need of assistance, visit the BACM Food Pantry at 939 Norton Ave., Barberton, Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m. and Thursdays from 1-6 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Bring your state ID and proof of residency in the 44203 zip code.
