Lake Anna Park will explode with color as 17,000 chrysanthemums create over 1 million mum blooms in a rainbow of color at the 28th annual Mum Fest, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30.
The dazzling floral display will provide a brilliant backdrop for a weekend filled with free family entertainment, arts and crafts, gardening tips and fabulous foods.
This year’s Mum Fest will include sand sculpture, chalk art, music, vegetable carving and canoe races on Lake Anna. A children’s activity area will include children’s crafts, a scavenger hunt, musical garden, a sand play area, inflatables and balloon art.
Returning to the Mum Fest this year are performances by the ETC Children’s Choir, New Horizons band and water ski shows featuring the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team. Ski shows will take place Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4:45 p.m., and also Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
New to the Mum Festival will be the SOBOS Band and characters from “A Part of their World.”
Off-site parking will be available at Barberton Middle School at 477 Fourth St., NW. Free Lake Anna shuttles will leave Saturday and Sunday every 15 minutes from the school between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
