Panthers fall in season opener

Without starters Dominick Reinart and Tommy Reynolds (both injured), Norton’s boys basketball team lost at Northwest 61-47 in the season opener Nov. 30.

Junior Tyler Scott led the way with 11 points, six assists and five rebounds. Nate Dobben (10 points, eight rebounds) and Christian Cheatam (6 points, seven rebounds, three assists) were familiar faces that started. Sophomores Phillip Wallace (8 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks) and Collin Lucas (3 points, four rebounds) made their first career varsity starts.

Micah Jefferson (5 points, three rebounds), John Cline (2 points, two rebounds) and Ryan Caulk (2 points) gave the Panthers minutes off the bench.

Next, the Panthers host Manchester Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
