Ice makes for driving challenges

Freezing temperatures overnight left roads icy for the morning commute, including an empty school bus getting stuck at 21st Street NW and West Tuscarawas Avenue at about 6:45 a.m.

According to Mayor William Judge, city roads were wet and not frozen when city salting crews finished for the evening at about 10 p.m. The crews were out salting by 7:30 this morning, Dec. 7.

Barberton salting crew works at N. Van Buren and Robinson avenues.

22nd Street NW and W. Tuscarawas Avenue, Barberton.

Yet there were people who complained all Summer long about the heat. At least over the Summer you don’t have to worry about road problems like this. Sunny and 80’s and you won’t have these issues.

It doesn’t take someone with half a brain to realize we shouldn’t wait until 7:30 to begin to work on creating less hazardous roadways. Maybe one or two overnight!? Then the majority of the day crew starting at 5 ending at 2??????

I think they use the “move” comment for anything. I use it to be sarcastic.

They should be out salting at 5AM before people go to work. By 7:30 I’ve been at work for an hour.
