Georgeanna (Jean) Machnauer, 93, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Dec. 24, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Bowling Green, Ohio. Jean was born in Cleveland, Ohio Dec. 28, 1924 and spent her childhood years in Avon. She lived her life committed to the Lord and dedicated to her family. Jean loved her position as “Grandma Mac,” especially to little Nick and Kate. She was a member of Norton Community Church of the Nazarene and served in various churches in many different roles through the years. Her last role of service was as a prayer warrior for family, friends and residents and staff at her Brookdale living facilities both in Barberton and Bowling Green. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Leonard and their daughter Lynette Porter. She is survived by daughter Dorothea (Glenn) Forrester, son-in-law Marvin Porter, granddaughter Megan (Mark) Denny, great grandchildren Nick and Kate Denny, and sisters, Jeanette Bagger and Nadine Pape. A memorial service will be at Norton Community Church of the Nazarene, 1177 Norton Ave., Norton, at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5. Rev. Joseph Frank will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Norton Community Church of the Nazarene.
