Barberton’s boys basketball team fell to 3-7 in Suburban League games and 5-12 overall with a 91-76 loss at Tallmadge.
Jordan Soyars led the Magics with 27 points and four assists to go with five rebounds. Jamair Blackmon followed with 26 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Max Littlejohn led the team with four 3-pointers, all coming in the first half, which ended with a 40-32 Magics’ lead. He totaled 12 points, three assists and two rebounds. Sonny Fox (6 points, six rebounds, three steals), Ethan Elliott (2 points, three rebound, one block, one steal) and Bradley Eagle (2 points) rounded out the team’s scoring.
Barberton won the junior varsity game, 80-51. Sophomore Anthony Cook led the game with 36 points.
Next, the Magics go on the road for a non-conference game at Alliance Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. They will then return home for a league game versus Kent Friday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
