Barberton’s girls basketball team honored its seniors in their final regular season game, as they defeated Medina Highland 49-37.
Seniors Lanysha Prewitt (15 points, 12 rebounds, two steals), Casey Quinn (10 points, four rebounds, two steals), Aliyah Rhoden (9 points, six rebounds) and Sophie Shifferly (1 point, six assists, five rebounds) each started in the game, which the Magics never trailed.
Hailey Haywood (9 points, four rebounds, three assists) and Brenna Walker (5 points, four rebounds) also scored while Laney Kaisk (five rebounds), Megan Schanz (three rebounds), An’taniyha Easter (three assists, two steals) and Haley Anzaldi (two steals, one block) also contributed.
The team finishes the season with an 11-10 overall record and an 8-4 Suburban League record, which was third in the league behind Aurora and Revere.
Next, the team hosts Akron North in the opener of the OHSAA Tournament Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. If they win they’ll move on to the sectional finals at Hoban Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
