Akron man pleaded guilty to robbery

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Nathan Furlow, 51, from Akron pleaded guilty to breaking into a home and robbing a 74-year-old man.

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Jill Lanzinger immediately sentenced Furlow six years in prison for aggravated burglary with a gun specification, a first-degree felony.

In March of 2016, the 74-year-old victim called 911 after hearing someone banging on his front door. The victim grabbed his rifle as Furlow broke into the home. Furlow snatched the rifle from the victim and demanded money. While breaking into the home, Furlow cut himself on some broken glass. Police followed a trail of blood and footprints which eventually led them to Furlow.
