Magics’ falls to Copley

Barberton’s softball team fell to 1-2 on the season with a 4-0 loss to Copley at home.

The Magics had eight hits and one walk in the game but stranded every base runner, going 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Alexis Mayle led the team with a double, two singles and a stolen base. Freshman Karley Klemons had two singles, Kyrstan McDonald walked and doubled and Laney Kaisk doubled.

Haley Anzaldi started the game and pitched two innings. She struck out four and allowed four walks, two hits and one earned run (three unearned). Kaisk finished the game with five shutout innings (two strikeouts, five hits).

Next, the team plays Revere at Our Lady of the Elms in Akron Wednesday, April 3 at 4:30 p.m. They also play Thursday, April 4 at Aurora at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 6 with a doubleheader at Stow beginning at 11 a.m.
