Janice L. Shemuga (Walker)

Janice L. Shemuga (Walker), 67, a lifelong resident of Barberton, passed away following a short battle with cancer Saturday, April 13. She fought the good fight and is now at peace. She was born Feb. 4, 1952 in Barberton. Janice attended Barberton High School and graduated from the Akron School of Nursing. She was a nurse for 40 years. Her current employment was Pleasant View Nursing Home in Barberton. Her patients loved her and she will be greatly missed by those she cared for. Janice was a warm and compassionate person. Her home was open to everyone. Janice’s family and friends were her life. She was predeceased by her parents, George R. and Mary Jane Walker, and son, Daniel Shemuga, Jr. She is survived by her fiance and best friend, Rick Schubert, sons, Sonny (Penny) and Michael Shemuga (Judy), sisters, Marilyn Lujan (Ron), Rebecca Gordon (Jeffery), Cynthia Linger (Kenneth), Kathy Dennis (Richard), brother George Walker, Jr. and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She adored her four grandchildren, Tiffani, Ciera, Thomas, Kelsey, and one great-grandson, Anthony. Cremation has taken place. Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

    So sorry to hear about Janice. She was a wonderful nurse and a great person. Prayers for the family. Rest high on that mountain Janice, you will be missed.

    I am so sorry to hear of Janice’s passing. She and I worked together for many many years at Maison Aine in Stow. She was a great co-worker and a very compassionate dedicated nurse. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time of tremendous loss. RIP Janice.

    Janice was a wonderful person. She was a great sister, mother, aunt, grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She is now an angel in heaven.
