Car smashes into house

Barberton Police and Fire responded to the corner of Fernwood Avenue and Wooster Road North after a car hit a house.

The driver involved said a van pulled out in front of her, so she swerved to avoid hitting it and instead crashed into the porch.

The driver was treated and released. The van fled the scene.

The May 9 accident led to the right southbound lane being temporarily blocked off.

Isn’t she the same one that the Devil pushed off the Bridge on 77 and East ave?

I heard someone slamming on their brakes for between 5 to 10 seconds and then this horrible crash. She must have been going at a terribly high rate of speed to go that long trying to stop and still hit with such force. There is definitely more to it than avoiding someone cutting her off.

Oh my gosh… can you imagine this being your house, and coming home to the front being shifted like that. I cant believe that car didn’t have more damage.

I agree. I drive by that house a couple times a day. I find it hard to believe that car ended up that far over there as well. Something definitely more to this one.

That is one wide swerve. No van? No witnesses? I say “texting and driving” is to blame.
