Magics win night game in Hudson

Barberton’s baseball team improved to 6-15 with a 2-1 win under the lights in Hudson.

The Magics took the first lead in the top of the third inning. Gavin Krska and Billy Goble singled with one out, and Krska came around to score on a Hudson error. Goble then scored on a Charlie Hornacek base hit. Alex Stevenson and Brandon Seiler also had singles for Barberton.

Justin Hill pitched a complete game and allowed just five hits and one earned run while striking out seven Explorer hitters.

Next, the Magics will again play under the lights Saturday, May 11 at Perry at 7 p.m. They will then play their Senior Night game Monday, May 13 versus Lake at 4:30 p.m. The team will honor seniors Hill, Griffin Brown, Krska, Zach Scalf, Max Taylor, Stevenson and Seiler.

Barberton will then open OHSAA Tournament play at home versus Copley Tuesday, May 14 at 5 p.m.
