City warns residents to prepare for evacuation through alert system

The City of Barberton notified residents on 14th St. NW through 16th St. NW between Hopocan Ave. and Wooster Road West to make arrangements for evacuation due to flooding through their Nixel alert system.

A second Nixel alert was issued a short time later reporting there are no evacuations currently. But wants residents to pay attention if water continues to rise.

***In other words, the City of Barberton is asking citizens to be vigilant to rising waters in that neighborhood. ***

When will the Corps of Engineers wake up and realize that the Tusc River needs to be dredged and deepened. The river gets runoff from the sewers, from Copley and Fairlawn. But of course these engineers have no common sense. We will just let it flood all the time. They don’t live so why do something about it.
