Lady Magics beat Copley

Barberton’s girls basketball team ended a three-game losing streak with a 38-34 win versus Copley.

The win improved the team’s record to 7-9 (3-6 Suburban League American Conference), and it was the second versus Copley this season.

Laney Kaisk made two 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds while scoring a team-high 10 points. An’taniyha Easter following with 9 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Hailey Haywood (9 points, two 3-pointers), Brenna Walker (8 points, two 3-pointers) and Maris Ries (2 points, seven rebounds) also scored.

The team returns with a home conference game Saturday, Jan. 25 versus Aurora, 2:30 p.m. The Greenmen won the first matchup by 1 point. Barberton will then play at North Royalton Monday, Jan. 27, 7 p.m., in a game that was originally scheduled to be the season-finale Saturday, Feb. 15.
