Police search for suspect in Kenmore murder

Akron police are searching for the man they believe shot and killed a 29-year-old man in the 1200 block of Kenmore Boulevard late July 30.

Charles Deel II, 24, was last seen fleeing the seen in a Chevy Tahoe. They found the Tahoe parked at an abandoned house on Marion Place and got a warrant but when the Akron SWAT Team got into the house, Deel wasn’t there.

Police were called to the Kenmore Boulevard location around 10:30 that night and found the victim laying, riddled with bullet wounds, on a sidewalk. He was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Police are withholding the victim’s name until his family can be notified. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy.

Police say Deel should be considered armed and dangerous.
