Anne M. Franks

Anne M. Franks, age 92, passed away April 24, 2020 peacefully at home, in the presence of family. Born Anna Mae Klemencic Oct. 2, 1927, to Frank and Barbara Klemencic, she was a life resident of Barberton. Anne was born at home on East Lake Avenue. In 1937, her parents built a new home around the corner on East Paige Avenue, where Anne lived the remainder of her life, having never moved off the block and away from her beloved Barberton home.  A graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1945, Anne worked at Yoder Brothers during World War II, where she met Lawrence W. Franks. They married June 7, 1945, and enjoyed 50 years of marriage. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Anne was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a proud supporter of her Croatian heritage, and a friend to many in the local Indian community. Preceded in death by her husband and parents, Anne is survived by son Dale (Patti) Franks of Barberton; son James Franks of Durham, North Carolina; daughter Claudia (Gene) Bachmann of Cary, North Carolina; daughter Audrey (Rick) Dellinger of Pickerington, Ohio; daughter Janet Doll of Knightdale, North Carolina; son Charles Franks of Broadview Heights, Ohio; son Bill (Kim) Franks of Canal Fulton, Ohio;  10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. Per Anne’s wishes, no visitation or funeral services were held. Burial occurred at Greenlawn Cemetery.

    I learned so much from Mrs. Franks and loved spending time with her. She was a very special woman. My love and sincere condolences to all of her children.

    So sorry for your loss, especially my classmate & good friend Audrey. Enjoyed many volleyball & euchre games at the home! “Life is changed, it is not ended.” Stay well & take care.
