A 27-year-old Cleveland man was stabbed to death Oct. 24 after an argument at a Magnolia Drive address.
Rodney Goodson was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Police responded a little before 8 a.m. and determined that Goodson had been arguing with his brother, Ronelle Pride, 20, also of Cleveland and that Pride had stabbed him. Pride had fled before officers arrived.
Police searched the area and determined that a Spectrum Communications work van had been stolen. The GPS locator on the van put it on Interstate 77 in Copley Township and Copley officers gave chase, aided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Fairlawn and Bath police departments.
The van exited the highway at Cleveland Massillon Road and wound through neighborhoods, driving through some yards, before stopping in a church parking lot. Pride fled on foot and was caught a few minutes later.
Pride was turned over to Barberton officers and was booked into the Barberton City Jail on a charge of murder. Barberton Police and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are continuing their investigation.
