Man arrested in Akron for forcing CashApp transfer at gunpoint, stealing pants
A 32-year-old Akron man was arrested Jan. 23 after robbing a 22-year-old man at gunpoint, forcing a CashApp transfer and stealing a pair of pants.
Eric McTyeire was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. He was taken to the Summit County Jail. Additional charges of resisting arrest, having physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence and harassment with a bodily substance stem from an earlier incident at the jail.
Police were called to a Sherman Street address around 10:30 that night where the victim related the tale and a description. Police radioed a description of McTyeire’s vehicle and officers pulled it over later that evening. No weapon was recovered.
EDITOR’S NOTE: A previous version of this story had the additional charges placed at the same time as the aggravated robbery charge.
