Kenmore man shot taking out the trash

Detectives in Akron are trying to find the suspects who shot a man in Kenmore while he was taking out his garbage.

Officers were called to Summa Health Akron City Hospital around 8:40 p.m. after being notified of a walk-in gunshot victim. When they arrived, they met with the victim, a 40-year-old male, who sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. They victim stated he was taking out the trash at a residence in the 2100 block of Fifth Street Southwest when he was shot by two unknown male suspects. The victim was driven to the hospital in a private auto. His injury is not considered life-threatening.

    Who would have ever thought that you would need to wear a bullet proof vest to take your garbage can to the curb?

    2 policemen were at my door last night while I was working. I saw them on my ring. I tried to find out what they needed but I didn’t know how to work my ring device.
