Leaves can begin disappearing in the Magic City Nov. 1 and will continue through early December, with each ward getting a four-day window.

Leaves must be raked into the street in a row, no more than two feet from the curb or edge of the street and not obstructing traffic. Have them out before the first day of the week for your ward.

• Ward 4 – Nov. 1-5

• Ward 1 – Nov. 8-12

• Ward 5 – Nov. 15-19

• Ward 2 – Nov. 22-26

• Ward 3 – Nov. 29-Dec. 3

• Ward 6 – Dec. 6-10

There will be no pickups Nov. 11, 25 and 26 due to the Veterans Day and Thanksgiving holidays.

Weather permitting, the cycle will repeat, weather permitting.

For immediate leaf removal, bring bagged leaves to Newton, Edgewood or Tuscora Park. Either dump them in the pile or leave the bags in the designated area; signs will be posted.

Barberton does a great job with the annual leaf pick up. I remember as a kid growing up on Ford Avenue in the late 50’s and early 60’s we would rake the leaves to the street and sprinkle on some gas and burn them. For kids it was sorta fun. Today that would evoke a loud response from authorities, eh? Anyway, keep up the good work City of Barberton.

Leave the leaf’s where they lie–they make the city look better.
