Tornado warnings issued in Summit County

The National Weather Service has issued two tornado warnings for Wayne, Medina and southern Summit counties.

Around 4:30, a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was in the Creston/Wooster area of Wayne County and heading east, expected to reach Doylestown around 4:55 p.m. In the storm’s path were Green, New Franklin, Clinton and Canal Fulton.

Although the tornado sirens in both communities were activated, it was expected to pass south of Barberton and Norton.

A second, similar storm hit Brunswick around 4:40 and was also headed east, impacting the northern Summit County.

Both warnings were set through 5:15 p.m.
