Byron Edward Barnes passed away Nov. 18, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 80 years old. Born in Barberton Sept. 15, 1941, Byron grew up in Wayne County and graduated from Norwayne High School in 1959. He attended Manchester College (North Manchester, Indiana), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He worked in the laboratory at Barberton Hospital for 46 years. He was dearly loved by his wife Pamela (Snyder), his son Eric (Tami) Barnes, stepdaughters Deanna (Randy) Gross, Angie (Bryan) Sigmon, and stepson Steven (Lisa) Pleskach. Byron is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Aiden, Katarina, Nicolette (Brad), Brad, Nick, Jordynn, Dakota, Logan, Emma, Serena and Miranda. He was also a beloved uncle to five nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Thomas and Ina Barnes, Sisters Betty Rogers, Bonnie McElroy, and Brothers Bert and Bruce Barnes.
