Dora Leigh Balash, 87, passed away peacefully Nov. 17, with her family at her side.Dora was born in Barberton to Dewey and Edith Scott. She attended St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was involved in the Holy Hour and Funeral Luncheon Programs. Dora enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting, but her greatest joy was being with her large family. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Edward, grandson Caiden Balash, sisters Joanna Wells and LaDonna Arnold and sister-in-law and good friend MaryAnn Sabo. She leaves behind her six children, Edward Balash Jr. of Norton, Bob (Martha) Balash of Norton, Laura (Scott) Dority of Uniontown, Jeffrey (Brenda) Balash of Massillon, Judee Balash of Cuyahoga Falls and Julee (Brad) Miller of Randolph; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and half-sister Carole Cherry of California. A special thank you to the staff at Crossroads Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. NW, Barberton.
