Sylvia M. Palcic

Sylvia M. Palcic, 94, passed away Nov. 18, at her residence. Sylvia was born in Barberton and had been an area resident all her life where she worked at Marshall’s Dept. Store. She was a member of the former Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church where she was active in the Rosary Society and St. Anne’s Society and served as a lay minister for many years distributing communion to the homebound and residents of Pleasant View Health Care Center and Pleasant Pointe. Sylvia was currently a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, K.S.K.J. Lodge 111 and S.D.Z Lodge 28. Preceded in death by her husband Raymond Sr.; and son Robert; She is survived by her children, Raymond P. Jr. (Patti) of Wadsworth, Ronald J. of Wadsworth and Rebecca A. Hill of Norton; daughter-in-law Carol Palcic; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Pleasant View Health Care Center and Pleasant Pointe and also to the Elara Caring Hospice Team that took care of Sylvia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Silva Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster RoadW., Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elara Caring Hospice.
