Gary (Pops) Root

Gary (Pops) Root, 66 of Wadsworth passed away suddenly March 13, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Barberton, Dec. 20, 1955.  He lived in the Barberton/Wadsworth area all of his life. He was a machinist and retired from B & C Machine with over 30 years of service. He was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, even down to his curtains. He loved camping, fishing and classic muscle cars. Gary was proceeded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Doris Root; brother, Roger Root; Sister, Rebecca Husk; son, Joseph Root; his faithful dog; Lady. He is survived by son, Brian (Jodi) Root; brother, Dempsey (Pamela) Root; brother-in-law, Marvin Husk; sister-in-law, Wanda Kendall; grandchildren Wade, Trevor, Tyler and Elizabeth; great- grandchildren, Lilliana and Maverick; loving dog; Freddy; several nieces, nephews and other family members.

    Gary, ) POP’S) Was a great guy who would give you his favorite) best shirt Off his back even if it was snowing out!! They definitely don’t make them like him anymore. I’ll miss ya, you old Fart!!!!

    Gary was a good friend of mine growing up.
    He always had a positive and welcoming demeanor.
    President Obama once eulogized a man by saying
    “At the end of the day, he was a good man. Isn’t that
    what really matters?”.
