Ken Hilbert has been a member of the Barberton Noon Kiwanis club since 1963 thanks to his sponsor Rev. Irv Chase. Ken was club president in 1983. He has also been inter club chair, house committee member, pancake chairman and sports committee bowling chair. Ken was very activity in the Kiwanis bowling league for 30 years.
His club membership has grown into many friendships and job opportunities over the years. He was employed at Barberton Laundry and Dry Cleaning, Liniform for 20 years and a family business for 46 years.
Something new members learned was that he served in the army from 1951-1953. He was assigned to the combat zone and lived in a bunker for nine months and was assigned a rank of staff sergeant.
