Jean A. Metz, 87, passed away May 23, at Pleasant View Health Care Center. Jean was born in Oak Hill, Ohio and had been a Barberton resident most of her life. She was a charter member of Pilgrim Holiness Church and currently attended Grace Church-Norton Campus. Jean loved gospel music and was blessed with a rich, strong Alto voice, which she used to glorify God throughout her life and in her travels with the Paul Ankrim Quartet. God commanded Jean Ann serving him by being a devoted wife and mother and to use her special ability in Nursery Ministry. Preceded in death by her husband Oris; granddaughter Julie McCrory; and parents Roy and Freda Ankrim; She is survived by her daughters Diane Chaney and Connie Metz; grandsons Anthony (Lindsey) Chaney and Stephen (Shannon) Chaney; great-grandchildren Ashley, Grace, Gabrielle, Thomas and Adrianna; great-great-grandson Mason; brother Paul (Barbara) Ankrim; sister Barb Ankrim; many nieces and nephews; and a host of Christian friends. Jean’s Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Silva Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Road W., Barberton. Pastor Robert Combs officiating.
